Dear friends:

I write this letter to you to remind you that on November 2, 2010, you not only have the opportunity to vote for our next Governor, you also have the opportunity to cast a vote that will affect  your legal rights by voting for the next two Justices of the Michigan Supreme Court.

This is a critical judicial election.  I urge you to vote for Justice Tom Davis and Judge Denise Langford-Morris for the Michigan Supreme Court because I believe they offer the best chance for returning integrity and fairness to the legal system in our State.

Justice Thomas (Tom) Davis. Justice Tom Davis, a former prosecutor, has fought for the rights of victims and families, and has worked to hold big corporations accountable. He served on the Forty-Sixth Circuit  Court for 21 years, including 17 as Chief Judge, before moving on to the Michigan Court of Appeals and then the Supreme Court.  Justice Davis has been praised by both Democrats and Republicans for his fairness and honesty and has led the efforts to streamline and reform Michigan’s judicial system and save taxpayers money.

Judge Denise Langford Morris. Judge Morris has served on the Oakland County Circuit Court for 18 years with distinction, making her the longest-serving woman on the bench and the first African American to be elected county-wide in Oakland. As a judge she cracked down on rapists and drunk drivers. She is respected by both Democrats and Republicans for being a fair and impartial jurist who never puts a political agenda ahead of the law. She says that the court has become unbalanced against the people of Michigan and she will use her 25 years of experience to return fairness, integrity, independence and compassion to the bench.

In order to vote for judges and Justices you must go to the “non-partisan” section of your ballot.

Please join me on November 2 and vote for Justice Alton Tom Davis and Judge Denise Langford MorrisVote for returning fairness and integrity to the Michigan Supreme Court!

Very truly yours,

Deborah A. Choly
